Hyundai confirms 2027 Tucson launch, new design and advanced technology
Hyundai Motor Co. CEO José Muñoz announced in the 2026 shareholder letter that a completely new generation of the Tucson SUV will be launched, with production starting in South Korea before expanding to other markets. The next‑generation model is slated for a 2027 market entry and will replace the current best‑selling compact SUV.
Spy photos released by automotive media show a markedly squarer exterior, a more vertical front grille reminiscent of the Santa Fe, and a redesigned interior that retains some physical controls. The new Tucson will run Hyundai’s Pleos OS, an Android Automotive‑based infotainment system, and will feature the AI‑driven voice assistant Gleo. While official power‑train details are pending, analysts expect hybrid and plug‑in hybrid options to be offered.
No official images, specifications, or pricing have been confirmed, and further details are expected to emerge as development progresses.
