Hyundai Elantra N prototype spotted with potential engine upgrades
A prototype of the new Hyundai Elantra N has been spotted in camouflage. Observations suggest the performance sedan will feature a wider track and more muscular proportions, indicated by widened fenders and larger 275/30ZR19 tires compared to the current model's 245-width tires.
Speculation regarding the powertrain suggests Hyundai may replace the current 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a larger 2.5-liter unit. This transition follows previous indications from former Hyundai executive Albert Biermann regarding the feasibility of the larger engine within the Elantra chassis. While the current 2.0-liter engine produces 276 HP and 392 Nm in American markets, the 2.5-liter engine used in other models offers approximately 290 HP and 422 Nm.
