Hyundai Engineering & Construction develops allergy care solution
Hyundai Engineering & Construction has announced the development of an ‘allergy care solution’ designed to manage indoor air quality and reduce allergens in residential spaces. The system combines high-performance heat exchangers with a room-specific ventilation system to improve living environments.
The core technology utilizes electrostatic spraying to reduce airborne bacteria by up to 99% and photoionization technology to decrease harmful gases by up to 96%. The heat exchanger also recovers thermal energy during air exchange to minimize heating and cooling losses. Performance has been verified by official institutions, including the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL) and the Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL).
The room-specific ventilation system allows for automated airflow adjustment, providing rapid ventilation of over six times per hour, significantly exceeding the legal standard of 0.5 times per hour. Hyundai plans to integrate these smart functions into its residential platform applications, ‘My Hills’ and ‘My DH’, to provide real-time air quality data and automated operation based on indoor environmental analysis.
