Hyundai Engineering & Construction expands Australian energy infrastructure reach
Hyundai Engineering & Construction is expanding its presence in the Australian and Asia-Pacific energy infrastructure markets through new strategic partnerships.
On January 16, the company signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with AusNet, a major energy network operator in Victoria, Australia. The collaboration focuses on transmission and distribution infrastructure, as well as grid-connected projects including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and data centers. The two companies intend to strengthen technical cooperation in engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), and operations and maintenance.
Additionally, Hyundai Engineering & Construction entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), a Denmark-based green energy investment firm. This partnership aims to jointly pursue renewable energy projects and related infrastructure across the Asia-Pacific region. CIP maintains an investment portfolio in wind, solar, green hydrogen, and carbon capture and storage (CCS) across more than 30 countries.
These moves follow the establishment of a Sydney branch by Hyundai Engineering & Construction in 2024 and recent investments in high-rise residential developments in Australia.
