Hyundai unveils fifth-generation Tucson SUV in New York
Hyundai Motor Company has officially unveiled the fifth-generation Tucson at a world premiere in New York City. The new model introduces the ‘Art of Steel’ design philosophy, featuring a more muscular, boxy silhouette with H-Edge lighting and Prism rear lamps. The vehicle has grown in all dimensions, offering increased interior space and a more refined cabin.
Technological advancements include the Pleos Connect infotainment system based on Android Automotive OS, which integrates Gleo AI for natural language voice commands. The lineup features various powertrains, including next-generation hybrid systems, plug-in hybrids (PHEV) with up to 81 km of electric range, and traditional internal combustion engines. Specific trims like the XRT Pro are being introduced to enhance off-road capabilities.
Hyundai plans to roll out over 100 new or facelifted models globally by 2030, with 58 models targeted for North America alone. The Tucson will see regional variations, including a European-specific model to be showcased at the Paris Motor Show.
