Hyundai launches i20 hatchback in Brazil starting at R$99,990
Hyundai Motor Brazil introduced the i20, its third locally produced model, positioned between the HB20 and the Creta. The hatchback arrives in six trim levels—Comfort, Limited (aspirated and turbo), X Line, Platinum and Ultimate—priced from R$99,990 to R$139,990. All versions are built at the Piracicaba plant and feature the brand’s new "Art of Steel" design language, 17‑inch wheels and a distinctive LED front strip.
The i20 measures 4.13 m in length, 1.78 m in width and has a 2.58 m wheelbase, offering a 346‑liter trunk that expands to 1,152 liters with the rear seats folded. Inside, a 12.3‑inch digital instrument panel, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, OTA software updates and a Morse‑code "H" steering wheel underscore Hyundai’s tech focus. Safety equipment includes the Hyundai SmartSense suite (autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane‑keeping assist, blind‑spot monitoring, rear cross‑traffic alert) plus six airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX anchorage. The launch targets Brazilian hatchback buyers and aims to draw customers from entry‑level SUVs such as the Fiat Pulse, Renault Kardian and Volkswagen Tera.
