Hyundai expands market presence with IONIQ 3 and new HB20 version
Hyundai is expanding its automotive footprint through new model launches and industry recognition. The IONIQ 3, an electric compact produced in İzmit, Turkey, has been named a finalist for the Premio Auto Europa 2027 organized by the Unione Italiana Giornalisti dell’Automotive (UIGA). The IONIQ 3 features an ‘Aero Hatch’ design with a 0.263 drag coefficient and offers two battery options: a 42.2 kWh standard range and a 61 kWh long range. In Portugal, the model is being introduced with prices starting at approximately €33,500, including various financing and maintenance incentives.
In Brazil, Hyundai is celebrating 15 years of the HB20 model. To mark the occasion and support a $1.1 billion investment cycle through 2032, the company plans to launch a new version of the HB20 positioned below R$ 100,000. This upcoming variant will focus on 1.0-liter naturally aspirated engines to provide a cost-effective option for consumers and ride-hailing drivers. The strategy emphasizes fuel efficiency and low maintenance costs, produced at the company's Piracicaba plant.
