Hyundai leads Tunisian automotive registrations through August

Hyundai has secured the top position in Tunisia's automotive registration rankings for the first eight months of the year, recording 4,351 units. The South Korean manufacturer maintained its lead despite fluctuating monthly volumes, which peaked at 862 units in June.

Kia follows closely in second place with 4,260 registrations, trailing the leader by only 91 units. Citroën holds the third position with 3,187 units, while Isuzu ranks fourth with 2,850 units.

In related financial news, City Cars, the official Kia dealer in Tunisia, reported a resilient first half of 2026. While semiannual revenue fell 8.6% to 165.254 MDT due to a 13.2% decline in non-popular new vehicle sales, the popular car segment saw a 24.8% increase. This growth in the popular segment acted as a counter-cyclical buffer amid tightening purchasing power and import quota restrictions. Despite a new 4% permanent tax introduced by the 2026 finance law, City Cars achieved a net profit of 13.984 MDT, supported by investment dividends.
