Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance breaks ground on Yeongdeungpo childcare community space

Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance has broken ground on the ‘I-Maum Playground’ in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Located within Eoulsoop Neighborhood Park, the project aims to create a community space designed to support both children's growth and parental care.

The facility will span approximately 500 square meters and include reading and play areas, a cafe lounge, and program rooms. It is intended to function as a multi-cultural complex where children can engage in sensory activities while caregivers participate in networking, meditation, or yoga.

The project is a social contribution initiative involving cooperation between Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance, Yeongdeungpo-gu, the non-profit Root Impact, and the social enterprise Elephant Factory. Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance is funding the construction costs and the first three years of operation. The facility is scheduled for completion in March 2027, after which it will be donated to Yeongdeungpo-gu. Additionally, the project includes environmental improvements to the surrounding park, such as renovating walking paths and adding shade structures.
