Hyundai Mobis showcases AR and AI driving technologies

Hyundai Mobis held the ‘2026 M-Files Festa & Invention Day’ at its technology research center in Yongin to celebrate employee-driven innovation and intellectual property achievements. The event integrated the company’s internal idea platform, M-Files, with its intellectual property initiatives to share the entire R&D process from concept to patent.

Two top ideas were selected by employee voting: an augmented reality (AR) driving support system that visualizes the relative speed of surrounding vehicles using color, and a generative AI-based AR system that provides real-time traffic law guidance based on driving conditions.

Since the launch of the M-Files platform in 2020, the company has received approximately 6,400 cumulative technical proposals. Hyundai Mobis has filed about 7,300 new patents over the last three years, with eco-friendly and future technology patents accounting for roughly 44% of that total. As of the end of last year, the company’s cumulative patent holdings exceeded 10,000.
