Hyundai Mobis unveils 60 new technologies, expanding into robotics

Hyundai Mobis is hosting its '2026 R&D Tech Day' at its Yongin Technology Institute through the 18th, showcasing approximately 60 new technologies. The event focuses on the company's expansion from mobility components into the robotics sector.

A key highlight is the first unveiling of two types of robot actuators. Hyundai Mobis has established a partnership with Boston Dynamics and intends to supply these actuators for the mass production of the 'Atlas' humanoid robot. The company aims to further expand its robotics portfolio to include hand grippers, sensors, controllers, and battery packs.

Additionally, the company presented 10 'Hero' products designed for global market competition. These include a next-generation hybrid battery system compatible with various cell types, an integrated controller for autonomous driving and parking, and specialized airbags for purpose-built mobility (PBV) environments. The company is also strengthening its global supply chain, recently launching a third European electrification production base in Slovakia.
