Hyundai announces massive global expansion and 2030 sales targets
At the 2026 CEO Investor Day, Hyundai Motor Company announced an ambitious global strategy to reach 5.55 million annual vehicle sales and a 6% market share by 2030. The plan includes launching over 100 new or updated models, with electrified vehicles expected to account for 60% of sales. To support this, the company is developing next-generation battery technology designed for faster charging, longer life, and improved safety.
Hyundai is expanding its performance divisions. The N brand aims to reach 100,000 annual units by introducing a new, more accessible performance tier positioned between N Line and full N models. Simultaneously, Genesis is strengthening its luxury presence with the unveiling of the GV90, a flagship electric SUV featuring unique 'Neolun Arch Gate' opposing doors and advanced safety systems, including a world-first roof airbag.
In North America, Hyundai and Kia are increasing production capacity, particularly in Alabama and Georgia, to meet growing demand and navigate shifting trade landscapes. The group is also targeting high-margin segments through specialized customization programs, such as the Genesis 'One of One' service for ultra-luxury clients in the Middle East.
