Hyundai Motor Company targets 60% electrification and 5.55M sales by 2030

Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled an aggressive long-term growth strategy aimed at reaching 5.55 million global sales units and a 6% market share by 2030. A central pillar of this plan is electrification, with the company targeting a 60% share of electrified vehicles in its total sales by 2030, up from a projected 23% in 2025.

To support this expansion, Hyundai plans to increase its global production capacity by 1.27 million units. This includes adding 500,000 units of capacity in North America, 320,000 in India, and 200,000 in South Korea. The company will also introduce over 100 new or updated models, with significant rollouts planned for North America, Korea, and Europe.

On the profitability front, Hyundai has raised its 2030 consolidated operating profit margin target to above 9%. To achieve this, the company is focusing on cost innovation, aiming to reduce the cost-to-sales ratio by 3 percentage points through improved manufacturing, material savings, and increased localization, particularly in North America where it aims for an 80% local parts procurement rate.

Technological advancement is also a priority. Hyundai is transitioning toward software-defined vehicles (SDVs), partnering with NVIDIA to implement Level 2+ autonomous driving technology by 2028. Additionally, the company will launch a 100-megawatt AI data center in Saemangeum in 2029 to support autonomous driving and software development.
