Hyundai Motor Group appoints bp veteran Eun-hee Hong to lead hydrogen division

Hyundai Motor Group has appointed Eun-hee Hong as the new head of its HMG Energy & Hydrogen Business Division. Hong joins the group from the global energy company bp, where she spent 18 years developing expertise in various energy sectors, including oil, LNG, hydrogen, and ammonia.

During her tenure at bp, Hong led the global hydrogen business development organization starting in 2023 and managed hydrogen and ammonia business development in 2022. Her experience spans the entire energy value chain, from resource development and project financing to contract negotiation and policy response. She notably played a role in the Angola LNG project.

The appointment follows the resignation of the previous division head, Ken Ramirez, who stepped down for personal reasons. Hyundai Motor Group intends to use Hong's expertise and global network to strengthen its hydrogen value chain, expanding beyond hydrogen-powered vehicles into hydrogen production, storage, transport, and charging infrastructure. This move aligns with the group's HTWO brand strategy to establish a comprehensive hydrogen energy ecosystem.
