Hyundai Motor Group parts suppliers see revenue split between Kia and Hyundai

Major component subsidiaries of Hyundai Motor Group reported diverging revenue trends in the first half of the year, mirroring the contrasting sales performances of Kia and Hyundai Motor Company.

Kia achieved record-breaking global sales of approximately 1.64 million units, a 2.7% increase year-on-year. This growth led to increased revenue for key suppliers: Hyundai Mobis reported that Kia-related revenue accounted for 38.2% of its total, surpassing its Hyundai Motor share for the first time. Hyundai Wia saw a 15% increase in revenue from Kia, bolstered by new engine production, while Hyundai Transys recorded a 5.1% rise in Kia-related revenue.

Conversely, Hyundai Motor Company saw sales fall below 2 million units for the first time in four years. This decline resulted in decreased revenue from the three major component makers. Hyundai Wia's revenue from Hyundai Motor dropped by 18.2%, partly due to production disruptions caused by a fire at a supplier, Anjeon Industry. Hyundai Transys also reported a 4.9% decrease in revenue related to Hyundai Motor.
