Hyundai Motor Group pilots mobile healthcare in Indonesia

Hyundai Motor Group is launching a pilot program in Indonesia to provide mobile healthcare services using Kia’s Purpose-Built Vehicle (PBV), the PV5 Cargo Long. The initiative aims to improve medical accessibility for residents in areas where healthcare facilities are difficult to reach.

Unveiled at the Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), the healthcare model is equipped with foldable patient beds, medical chairs, and electrocardiogram (ECG) equipment. The vehicle utilizes Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, allowing it to supply power to medical devices even in locations without external power infrastructure.

Starting at the end of this year, the demonstration will take place in BSD City, a smart city near Jakarta. The project is a collaboration between Hyundai Motor Group, which manages vehicle provision and operations; Sinar Mas Land, which provides infrastructure support within BSD City; and Eka Hospital, which will supply medical staff and diagnostic services. The group plans to expand this smart city service model to other ASEAN nations in the future.
