Hyundai Motor Group shares AI transformation experiences

Hyundai Motor Group has shared its extensive experience in Artificial Intelligence Transformation (AX) with the domestic industry. During the ‘Softier Tech Talk Off-Day 2026’ conference held in Seoul, the group presented not only its successes but also its trial and error, challenges, and lessons learned to assist other companies pursuing AX.

Key strategies highlighted include building a foundation through Digital Transformation (DX), integrating data, and establishing collaborative environments. The group has secured approximately 140PB of vehicle sensor data from 12 million connected cars and utilizes ‘H Chat’, an internal generative AI platform used by over 70% of its employees.

To ensure practical business results, Hyundai focused on three pillars: building common platforms, securing field trust, and establishing data management systems. For instance, the group integrated various AI models into a single platform, such as a VIN recognition AI now applied to 73 processes globally, and improved user trust by having AI suggest demand plans and provide evidence-based maintenance manuals.
