Hyundai Motor India targets 20% female executive representation by 2030
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced a target to increase women’s representation in its executive workforce to 20% by 2030. Currently, women comprise more than 8% of the company’s executive workforce, which consists of over 4,000 employees.
The company reported a shift in recent hiring trends, noting that women accounted for approximately 45% of management and engineer trainees recruited in 2026. The diversity initiative aims to expand female participation across various sectors, including manufacturing, engineering, research and development, sales, and corporate leadership.
To achieve these goals, HMIL is implementing a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) framework. This includes the ‘Women @ Work 2.0’ programme, which offers maternity and parental support, childcare assistance, and workplace flexibility. Additionally, the ‘TrailblazHER’ initiative focuses on mentorship and career acceleration for high-potential female professionals. The company is also upgrading infrastructure with crèche facilities at manufacturing plants and enhanced safety and wellness measures.
