Hyundai Motor launches home EV charger subscription service

Hyundai Motor Company has launched ‘My Home Charger’, a subscription service for home electric vehicle (EV) charging, in collaboration with charging operator ChargEV. The service is designed for Hyundai and Genesis EV owners residing in detached or row houses with dedicated parking spaces.

Under the subscription, customers receive a 7kW slow home charger and have the installation costs covered. The service requires a minimum monthly commitment of 300kWh at a rate of 245 won per kWh, resulting in a minimum monthly cost of approximately 73,500 won. Hyundai estimates that after three years of use, customers could save approximately 670,000 won compared to existing Hyundai home charger products and 1.53 million won compared to using ChargEV’s external rapid chargers.

Upon completion of the three-year commitment, customers gain full ownership of the charging device without additional fees or return procedures. Users can manage charging history, usage, and remaining commitment amounts through the dedicated ChargEV app.
