Hyundai Motor Philippines selects Byung Goo Ko as president

Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. announced that Byung Goo Ko will become its president on 27 July 2026, succeeding Jiho Son who oversaw the expansion of the dealer network and model lineup. Ko brings more than two decades of experience at Hyundai Motor Company, having held strategic roles in Asia‑Pacific, Europe, India and the Middle East covering market development, sales operations and global business strategy.

Ko said the Philippines remains a valued market with strong growth potential and that the company must strengthen its brand presence and inspire consumer confidence amid a changing automotive landscape. Managing Director Cecil Capacete welcomed Ko, describing him as a seasoned industry figure who will help Hyundai Motor Philippines continue innovating the car‑ownership experience and delivering mobility solutions nationwide.
