Hyundai Tucson records record 15,045 first-day bookings

Hyundai Motor Company has announced that the fifth-generation, all-new Tucson recorded 15,045 bookings on its first day of pre-orders, setting a new record for the model line. This represents a nearly 39% increase compared to the 10,842 bookings recorded on the first day of the fourth-generation model's launch in 2020.

Customer preference shows a strong shift toward premium features and electrification. The top-tier Inspiration trim accounted for 44% of bookings, a significant increase from 29% in the previous generation. Additionally, hybrid models now represent 55% of total bookings, surpassing gasoline variants due to the implementation of a next-generation hybrid system that improves both power and fuel efficiency.

The new Tucson features significant design and structural upgrades, including an expanded wheelbase and increased trunk capacity. Hyundai's strategy of including advanced safety and convenience features—such as the Pleos Connect software platform, nine airbags, and navigation-based smart cruise control—starting from the entry-level H-Pick trim appears to have mitigated concerns regarding the price increase.
