Hyundai Movex to supply 72 billion won logistics system to Kumho Tire

Hyundai Movex has signed a 72 billion won contract with Kumho Tire to provide an advanced intelligent logistics automation system for a new factory in the Bitgreen National Industrial Complex in Hampyeong, South Jeolla Province. The project, scheduled for completion by October 2028, aims to establish a next-generation tire production base with an annual capacity of 5.3 million units across a 500,000 square meter site.

The integrated automation system will manage the entire manufacturing process, from raw materials to semi-finished and finished products. Key technologies to be implemented include Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS), automated guided vehicles (AGV), autonomous mobile robots (AMR), and conveyor systems, all integrated with warehouse and control software (WMS/WCS). The solution will also utilize AI-based volume forecasting and real-time logistics tracking to maximize operational efficiency.

Hyundai Movex will provide a ‘one-stop’ service covering design, production, installation, and maintenance. This contract contributes to the company's current order backlog, which exceeds 400 billion won as of September. The company is also actively expanding its smart logistics presence globally, including projects for Hankook Tire in the United States and various production hubs in Europe, China, and Southeast Asia.
