Hyundai Nexo hydrogen fuel cell SUV undergoes practical testing

The Hyundai Nexo is being evaluated as a potential alternative to traditional internal combustion engines and battery-electric vehicles. As a hydrogen fuel cell SUV, the Nexo offers a driving experience similar to an electric vehicle, featuring an electric motor with 150 kilowatts (204 PS) and 350 Nm of torque.

Key advantages of the technology include a refueling time of approximately five minutes and a driving range of around 500 kilometers with zero CO2 emissions. However, the practical adoption of hydrogen vehicles faces challenges. In Germany, consumer options remain limited, with the Toyota Mirai and Hyundai Nexo being the only fuel cell passenger cars currently available in dealerships.
