Hyundai opens vehicle data access via API for service providers
Hyundai is opening vehicle data access to third-party service providers via a new API. This integration allows workshops, insurers, fleet managers, and mobility services to access standardized information from more than 1.5 million connected Hyundai models across 43 countries.
Through the Caruso platform, a subsidiary of Tec Alliance, service providers can access over 80 different data points without requiring additional hardware in the vehicles. The API bundles existing telematics data to provide insights such as mileage, location, warning lights, door and ignition status, fuel levels, battery charge status, remaining range, and tire pressure. It also includes diagnostic error codes.
The data service covers a wide range of vehicles, including internal combustion engine models, electric vehicles like the Ioniq series, and hydrogen-powered models such as the Nexo. This allows service networks to better identify maintenance needs and proactively contact customers.
