Hyundai partners with Indonesian Customs to strengthen local suppliers

PT Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (HMMI) has launched a supplier development program in Bekasi to enhance the capabilities of local automotive partners. In collaboration with the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, the initiative provides training on the utilization of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status.

The program focuses on improving customs compliance, supply chain efficiency, and international trade opportunities. By helping local suppliers understand preferential tariffs and complex trade regulations, HMMI aims to ensure component quality consistency and reduce administrative risks in the procurement process.

Hyunchul Bang, President Director of HMMI, stated that vehicle quality depends on the reliability of the entire supply chain, not just factory production. Tutut Rindiati, from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, noted that AEO guidance and FTA verification will help reduce material procurement rejections.
