Hyundai Kona redesign leak shows boxy SUV shift and new Pleos infotainment

Leaked images and renderings reveal that the third‑generation Hyundai Kona will abandon its rounded crossover silhouette for a more angular, boxy SUV shape. The redesign features a taller stance, pixel‑style LED lighting and a clamshell engine cover, echoing design cues from the Ioniq 5.

Inside, the cabin will be equipped with Hyundai’s new Pleos infotainment system, an Android Automotive‑based platform offered on large touchscreen options ranging from 12.9 to 14.6 inches, plus a digital driver display. The vehicle is expected to continue offering gasoline, hybrid and fully electric powertrains, with a hybrid possibly using a 1.6‑litre engine shared with the Kia Seltos. Production is slated for a global launch in 2027 or 2028, though Hyundai has not yet confirmed the details.
