Hyundai reveals new Tucson SUV with updated interior and hybrid powertrain for Vietnam

Hyundai showcased the next‑generation Tucson SUV ahead of its 2027 launch, unveiling a refreshed interior that pairs a black‑beige colour scheme with a traditional centre‑console gear lever. The cabin features a 17‑inch Pleos Connect touchscreen, a 9.9‑inch digital instrument cluster, retained physical climate and infotainment buttons, a newly styled steering wheel, and upgraded seats and door trims. The exterior adopts a squarer design inspired by the latest Santa Fe, including a clamshell hood, reworked lighting and hexagonal wheel arches. The model runs on Hyundai's Android‑based Pleos OS, supporting OTA updates and an AI assistant named Gleo, and will be offered in hybrid and plug‑in hybrid variants with level‑2 driver assistance.

A hybrid version of the Tucson is set to arrive in Vietnam in early September, priced below 999 million VND. It retains the model's modern C‑segment high‑ground SUV silhouette, measuring 4.64 m long, 1.87 m wide and 1.70 m tall with a 2.755 m wheelbase. Inside, a twin‑screen layout presents 12.3‑inch infotainment and instrument displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an electronic rotary gear selector behind the steering wheel. Power comes from a turbo‑charged 1.6 L gasoline engine paired with an electric motor, delivering 231 hp and 367 Nm through a six‑speed automatic transmission. The vehicle also incorporates Hyundai SmartSense safety features such as automatic emergency braking, lane‑keep assist and smart cruise control.
