Hyundai rolls out electric Inster and Kona models for France's 2026 social leasing scheme
Hyundai is introducing two fully electric vehicles – the compact Inster and the SUV‑style Kona – into France’s social leasing programme that begins in July 2026. The Inster will be offered at €139 per month and the Kona at €189 per month, each on a 37‑month lease covering up to 45,000 km.
The Inster is equipped with a 42 kWh battery delivering a WLTP range of about 369 km, while the Kona carries a 48 kWh pack and can travel up to 514 km on a charge. Technical specifications for the Kona include a 156 hp motor, 0–100 km/h in 8.8 s, a 377 km mixed‑cycle range, 11 kW onboard charger and a 103 kW DC fast‑charge capability.
Hyundai’s electric‑vehicle registrations in France have surged 97.2 % since the start of 2026. By the end of May, the Inster recorded 2,415 registrations (+416 %) and the Kona remained the brand’s best‑selling model with 5,640 units (+5.6 %). Overall French registrations for Hyundai fell 16 % year‑on‑year, but electric models now represent 37.3 % of its sales.
