Hyundai rolls out new i20 for Brazil and larger Creta SUV with hybrid options worldwide

Hyundai released the first official image of the new Brazil‑built i20, confirming production at its Piracicaba plant. The compact hatch targets the same segment as the Volkswagen Polo, Chevrolet Onix and Fiat Argo, and is expected to use locally produced 1.0‑liter turbo‑flex engines delivering around 120 hp. The model will feature a larger digital cockpit, upgraded connectivity and safety systems such as autonomous emergency braking and lane‑keeping assistance.

Separately, the next‑generation Creta SUV has been spotted in testing, showing a longer body (about 4.45 m), a new “Seamless Horizon” LED front strip and a redesigned rear lamp. The vehicle will be built on Hyundai’s SX3 platform, capable of accepting gasoline, hybrid or electric powertrains, and will debut hybrid versions alongside the current Kona line. Interior updates include a 16:9 central display running Hyundai’s Pleos OS and a compact instrument panel. Global testing has taken place in the United States, India and South Korea, with market‑specific codes such as SX3b for Brazil and SX3c for China.
