Hyundai Stargazer expands presence in Malaysia and Indonesia

Hyundai has expanded the presence of its Stargazer MPV in Southeast Asia, with the model officially launching in Malaysia and facing speculation regarding new iterations in Indonesia.

In Malaysia, Hyundai Motor Malaysia has released the Stargazer as a CBU import from Indonesia. The lineup includes the Style, Prime, and the six-seater X variants, with prices ranging from RM99,800 to RM121,800. The vehicle features a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine paired with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). The Malaysian launch utilizes the latest facelifted version, known in Indonesia as the Stargazer Cartenz.

In Indonesia, Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) has not officially confirmed recent social media reports of camouflaged vehicles being tested on public roads, which many speculate are new Stargazer models. Rouli Sijabat, Head of Public Relations for HMID, stated that the company is currently focused on the Stargazer Cartenz, which has seen strong consumer response, accounting for 60 to 70 percent of Hyundai's sales during the GIIAS 2026 event.
