Hyundai unveils electric MPV Neira at Indonesia auto show

Hyundai Motor Company presented the concept Hyundai Neira, a three‑row electric MPV, at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 in Jakarta. The model is a rebadged Kia Carens Clavis EV, built at Hyundai’s Cikarang plant, with 7‑seat layout, dual 12.3‑inch screens and a projected electric range of up to 490 km. Pricing and official specifications have not yet been released.

Chery’s iCaur brand displayed the V27 SUV, also at GIIAS, and announced that it will enter the Vietnamese market later this year. The V27 uses a REEV powertrain with a 1.5‑L turbocharged engine that charges a 34.31 kWh battery, delivering an electric‑only range of about 200 km and a total range of roughly 1,200 km (CLTC).

BYD Co. launched the M6 hybrid MPV in Indonesia, priced between 298 million and 390 million Rupiah (approximately 447 million‑585 million VND). The hybrid can travel up to 110 km on electric power alone. The show also featured a host of other new EV and hybrid models from manufacturers such as Toyota, BMW, Lexus and Subaru, underscoring the region’s rapid shift toward electrified vehicles.
