Hyundai unveils fifth-generation Tucson SUV

Hyundai has unveiled the fifth generation of its Tucson SUV, introducing a significant design shift characterized by the ‘Art of Steel’ aesthetic. The new model features a more squared, muscular silhouette with increased dimensions, including a longer wheelbase and wider body to enhance interior space and passenger comfort.

Key technological updates include the introduction of the Pleos infotainment system, which utilizes a large, tablet-style central display. The interior has been redesigned with a more horizontal layout, incorporating a mix of modern digital interfaces and some traditional physical controls for climate and volume.

A rugged XRT variant has also been revealed, specifically designed for outdoor enthusiasts. This version features a more aggressive front fascia with a large rectangular grille, reinforced skid plates, dark exterior accents, and specialized interior elements such as all-weather mats and unique upholstery.

While specific powertrain details for all markets have not been fully disclosed, the lineup is expected to continue offering electrified options, including mild-hybrid, full-hybrid, and plug-in hybrid configurations. The new generation is anticipated to enter global markets as a 2027 model.
