Hyundai announces major product expansion and electrification roadmap through 2030
At its 2026 CEO Investor Day in Seoul, Hyundai Motor Group announced an expansive strategic roadmap aimed at strengthening its global market position through 2030. The company plans to launch or refresh more than 100 vehicle models worldwide, including 18 entirely new models, to enter previously untapped market segments. This product offensive includes 58 models for North America, 49 for South Korea, 41 for Europe, 26 for India, and 22 for China.
Central to this strategy is a major push toward electrification, with Hyundai targeting that electrified vehicles will account for 60% of its global sales by 2030, up from 23% in 2025. To facilitate this transition, the company is introducing Extended-Range Electric Vehicles (EREV). The first EREV model, a Santa Fe SUV, is scheduled for launch in the first half of 2027 and will be manufactured in the United States, targeting a total range of over 600 miles. The Genesis brand will also adopt this technology, with a GV70 EREV expected to offer a range of approximately 640 miles.
Hyundai also aims to increase its annual global sales to 5.55 million vehicles by 2030 and raise its operating profit margin to over 9%. To support this growth, the company plans to expand its global production capacity by 1.27 million units. Beyond traditional manufacturing, Hyundai is investing in future technologies, including in-house battery cell development, robotics via Boston Dynamics, and autonomous driving, including the delivery of Ioniq 5-based robotaxis to Waymo.
