Hyundai unveils fifth-generation Tucson with hybrid powertrain

Hyundai has revealed details regarding the fifth-generation Tucson, scheduled for a 2027 release. The new model features a more rugged, boxy design with sharp lines, a full-width light bar, and increased dimensions, measuring 4.70 meters in length.

The updated interior focuses on improved accessibility and technology, featuring a redesigned dashboard with a central touchscreen of up to 17 inches and rear doors that open to 83 degrees to facilitate passenger entry.

Mechanically, the new Tucson hybrid will utilize a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine paired with an electric system, producing a combined 245 cv and 38.7 kgfm of torque. Hyundai claims the hybrid variant could achieve a fuel consumption average of up to 17.4 km/l. The company intends to continue offering pure petrol engine options alongside hybrid powertrains to serve various global markets.
