Hyundai unveils larger Kona SUV for Europe

Hyundai Motor Company is preparing a new generation of its Kona crossover. Spy photographs from South Korea show a significantly larger vehicle with a redesigned front, slimmer LED light strip, and a more upright rear profile. The next‑generation Kona will replace both the current Kona and the Creta, moving the model into a higher segment that bridges the gap between the Bayon and the Tucson. Interior dimensions are expected to increase, and the design draws on Hyundai’s IONIQ family while shedding the previous model’s distinctive black plastic trim.

The refreshed model is slated for a 2024 market launch and is already generating interest in European markets such as the Netherlands, where the current Kona has been a popular lease choice. The shift aims to broaden Hyundai’s appeal and streamline its global lineup by consolidating two similar models into a single global vehicle.
