Hyundai's Pleos infotainment system to debut in Kia models from 2027

Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled the Pleos infotainment platform, built on Android Automotive OS and featuring large 12.9‑ or 14.6‑inch central screens, split‑screen views and the Gleo AI voice assistant. The system, first introduced in Hyundai flagship models such as the Grandeur, Avante and Tucson, will be expanded to Kia vehicles starting in 2027, with flagship models like the K9 and EV9 expected to be early recipients. Hyundai plans to install Pleos in more than 20 million vehicles across its brands by the end of the decade and intends to bundle the technology with subscription‑based media and service packages.

The first European deployment occurred with the IONIQ 3 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, demonstrating Hyundai’s push to treat the software platform as a global revenue driver. The rollout marks a strategic shift for the Korean automaker toward a software‑centric business model comparable to offerings from Tesla and Chinese rivals.
