Hyundai's WRC Team Faces Uncertain Future for Neuville and Fourmaux

Hyundai Motorsport entered the 2026 Rally Finland buoyed by a podium finish in Estonia, its 150th podium in the World Rally Championship. Drivers Thierry Neuville and Adrien Fourmaux, who placed fourth and third respectively in Estonia, will be joined by Finnish native Esapekka Lappi for the Finnish round. Team director Andrew Wheatley highlighted the car's speed on fast gravel sections, saying the result shows Hyundai can compete for podiums.

Despite the on‑track success, the long‑term programme remains unclear. Neither Neuville nor Fourmaux have received confirmation from Hyundai regarding their roles beyond the 2026 season, and the manufacturer has not committed to building a new WRC‑27 car for 2027. Hyundai may instead run its Rally2 vehicle alongside the forthcoming WRC‑27 cars, a plan that would keep the drivers involved in development but leaves their WRC future uncertain.
