HZJZ reports water testing results for Lika-Senj County

The Croatian Institute of Public Health (HZJZ) has released the results of emergency water sampling conducted in the Lika-Senj County. The testing involved 22 samples taken from taps in various locations for human consumption, as well as one sample from a water reservoir on the island of Rab.

Analysis confirmed that PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) concentrations were not detected in any of the samples, with levels remaining below the quantification limit of 0.0015 µg/L per individual compound. Out of the 22 samples tested, 21 were found to be compliant with national regulations regarding water parameters for human consumption.

One sample, taken from a tap in a private facility, was deemed non-compliant due to elevated lead concentrations. The HZJZ stated that this finding is not related to the quality of the water distributed by the supplier. Instead, the institute noted that the elevated lead levels undoubtedly point to issues within the private household water supply network or internal plumbing installations, as water from major sources like Mrđenovac, Tonkovića vrilo, and Hrmotine showed no elevated lead levels.
