HZMO allocates funds for IT upgrades and pension adjustments

The Croatian Pension Insurance Institute (HZMO) is undertaking significant technological investments and implementing pension adjustments. For IT maintenance and network upgrades over the next year, HZMO will allocate approximately 780,000 euros. This includes 260,000 euros for EMC system maintenance, with KING ICT d. o. o. selected for the contract. Additionally, 520,000 euros is designated for a WAN network upgrade involving SD-WAN devices, with KING ICT d. o. o. and BADURINI d. o. o. selected for the project.

Separately, HZMO has announced pension payments for August 2026, which will include a retroactive difference for July. Following a decision by the HZMO Governing Council, pensions will increase by 5.40 percent to align with current values. For example, a 400 euro pension will rise to approximately 443.20 euros, while a 1,000 euro pension is expected to reach about 1,108 euros. Many retirees have expressed dissatisfaction on social media, arguing that these adjustments are merely legal requirements to combat inflation rather than true increases, noting that the amounts do not sufficiently offset the rising cost of living.
