I Don’t Like Mondays. releases ‘BLACK TORCH’ ending theme

I Don’t Like Mondays. BLACK TORCH Groooovy FRIDAY album City Pop

The musical group I Don’t Like Mondays. has released the single ‘Groooovy’, which serves as the ending theme for the TV anime ‘BLACK TORCH’. This marks the group's first anime theme song in approximately four and a half years, following their work on ‘ONE PIECE’.

In an interview regarding the production, the members explained that while their previous work for ‘ONE PIECE’ was designed to be an exciting opening, ‘Groooovy’ was crafted as a city pop track intended to leave a lingering, sentimental impression after the episode ends. The song aims to capture the ‘daily life’ of the characters, contrasting with the intense battle scenes of the main series.

Additionally, the group is set to release a new 18-track album titled ‘FRIDAY’ on September 25, featuring collaborations with various artists and reflecting a club-inspired atmosphere.
