i24NEWS film crew assaulted in Belfast during documentary shoot

An Israeli television crew from i24NEWS was assaulted in Belfast, Northern Ireland, while filming a documentary series regarding the rise of antisemitism in Europe. The incident occurred in a popular bar district as reporter Yonatan Raveh and cameraman Nadav Abas were interviewing passersby.

According to reports, an unidentified man confronted the crew after recognizing them as Israeli. The individual attempted to seize camera equipment and directed verbal abuse at the journalists. The situation escalated when the man threw a large glass object at Abas, striking him in the head and causing a superficial wound. The crew sought assistance from nearby security personnel and has since returned to Israel.

The Anti-Defamation League condemned the attack, stating that the journalists were targeted for their nationality while documenting the very issue they were reporting on. The documentary series, which includes previous reports from Spain and New York, is expected to air in the coming weeks.
