IAA Transportation to feature record 84 vehicle test drives

IAA Transportation commercial vehicles test drives autonomous driving hydrogen vehicles

The IAA Transportation 2026 event in Hannover, Germany, will feature a record number of test drives for heavy vehicles. A total of 84 vehicles from 17 exhibitors are available for testing, marking a 40% increase compared to 2024.

Visitors can experience technological innovations in commercial transport, with the highest demand focused on automated and autonomous driving units. The available fleet includes a majority of fully electric vehicles, alongside hydrogen-powered models and low-emission diesel engines.

Jürgen Mindel, Director General of VDA, noted that while manufacturers are successfully implementing technologies for digital and climate-neutral mobility, policymakers must now establish the necessary infrastructure, such as high-capacity electrical grids and hydrogen supply networks, to support these vehicles.
