IAAPA Expo Europe showcases global visitor attraction innovations in London

The IAAPA Expo Europe 2026, a major global event for the visitor attractions and leisure industry, is being held in London. The expo serves as a primary showcase for new developments and technological advancements in the amusement park sector.

Key industry announcements include a partnership between Efteling and Vekoma for the upcoming Ravenring attraction, scheduled to open on December 1, 2026. This ride will feature Vekoma’s new Wavecatcher family flat ride technology. Additionally, Grona Lund announced its new interactive dark ride, SCORE!, which will utilize the Vekoma DRX 2.0 ride system designed by Jora Vision.

European companies are also highlighting specialized technologies at the event. Belgian firm Alterface Projects, a spin-off from UCLouvain, is showcasing interactive motion-detection technology that allows visitors to engage with digital environments through physical gestures, enhancing immersion in themed attractions.
