IAEA Chief's visit to Zaporozhye Nuclear Plant blocked

The planned visit of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi to the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant and the town of Energodar has been cancelled for August 20–21.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that while the IAEA Secretariat and the Russian side had finalized all details and security guarantees, Ukraine blocked the trip. According to the ministry, Ukraine indicated it could not guarantee Grossi's safety if he entered the nuclear facility via Russian territory.
