IAEA Director Rafael Grossi postpones Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant visit

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi has postponed a planned visit to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant due to a lack of security guarantees from Kyiv. Russian representative Mikhail Ulyanov stated that while the visit was originally intended for late August, it has been delayed rather than canceled.

Ulyanov noted that Russia remains prepared to facilitate the IAEA delegation's visit through its territory, but claimed such arrangements are currently impossible due to attacks from Kyiv during previous expert rotations. The postponement follows a confirmation of the invitation by Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev during the IAEA General Conference in Vienna.
