IAEA reports construction activity near Iran's Natanz facility

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has reported observing construction activities and movements at the Kuh Kalang site near the Natanz nuclear facilities. Grossi noted that despite observing these movements, IAEA inspectors have not yet been granted access to the interior of the tunnel complex and lack specific information regarding the nature of the activities occurring there.

These claims follow the IAEA Board of Governors' decision to refer Iran's nuclear case to the United Nations Security Council due to alleged non-compliance with nuclear obligations.

In response, Iran distributed an 11-page diplomatic note to various countries, warning Western nations against turning the IAEA into a tool for war. The note referenced events from June 2025, alleging that Israeli and American aggression against Iran occurred shortly after the IAEA declared Iran in violation of its commitments, calling for diplomats to condemn such illegal attacks.
