Moldova Corn Day tests 44 hybrids after severe drought
During the 2026 Moldova Corn Day, 44 corn hybrids from 11 different producers were tested under identical conditions at the EVI BLOSSOM farm in Victoria, Iași county. Organized by the Iași Grain Growers Association and the APPR Forum, the event aimed to provide a direct comparison of genetic performance following a severe drought season in 2025.
By testing the hybrids in the same soil and weather conditions, the platform allows farmers to see real-world results rather than relying solely on manufacturer brochures. While individual production yields and a final ranking of the 44 varieties have not yet been released, the initiative serves as a critical benchmark for assessing drought resistance and stability in the region.
