Iași designer Laura Galic builds international fashion brand

Laura Galic has established a successful fashion brand from a small atelier in Iași, Romania. Starting with minimal resources, including a broken table and a sewing machine purchased with scholarship funds, Galic has built a business that has operated for nearly two decades.

Galic, a graduate of the George Enescu National University of Arts, began her journey influenced by her grandmother, who taught her to use a manual sewing machine at age six. Her brand has achieved international recognition, even creating pieces for the muse of designer Thierry Mugler.

Operating out of a modest workshop with a team of four women, the brand maintains an authentic approach in a challenging garment sector. The atelier preserves family history, symbolized by a framed pair of vintage scissors used by a former tailor.
