Iași prepares for Saint Parascheva pilgrimage and art festival

The annual pilgrimage honoring Saint Parascheva is scheduled to take place in Iași from October 8 to October 15, 2026. The event begins on the morning of October 8 with the reading of the Acatist of Saint Parascheva at the Metropolitan Cathedral, followed by a procession to place the holy relics under a specially arranged canopy.

This year, pilgrims will also have the opportunity to venerate the relics of Saint Paisie of Sihăstria, which will be brought from the Sihăstria Monastery in Neamț County. A significant highlight of the schedule is the ‘Way of the Saints’ procession, set for the evening of Sunday, October 11.

In addition to the religious services, the city will host the inaugural Sacrum Iași Art Festival. This cultural initiative involves various academic and ecclesiastical institutions and features over 50 events, including visual arts exhibitions, multimedia installations, and sacred and classical music concerts.

In the Botoșani region, several local churches are also preparing to celebrate the feast day of Saint Parascheva on October 14 through various religious services.
