Iași to host international theological symposium and Byzantine music festival

Iași will host two significant cultural and religious events. The first edition of the “TheosIS” International Symposium is scheduled for October 5–6, 2026. Organized by the “Saint Dumitru Stăniloae” Faculty of Orthodox Theology at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, the symposium aims to merge liturgical and academic dimensions, bringing together researchers, academics, and students to discuss theological themes.

Additionally, the 9th edition of the Byzantine Music Festival will take place from the 23rd to the 28th. Organized by the Metropolis of Moldavia and Bukovina, the festival features performers and researchers from four countries with Byzantine cultural heritage. This year’s theme, “On the Spring of Life let us honor it…”, is dedicated to the Mother of God. The program includes concerts in Iași, Botoșani, and Piatra Neamț, alongside liturgical moments, mosaic workshops, and psaltic music competitions.
